The Story Behind Silver Honeybee Studio
Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here.
Silver Honeybee Studio began with a simple longing: to share the things I make with others and to build a life where creativity is valued as meaningful work.
Like many people, I began making art seriously during the pandemic. Over time, I wanted an audience for my illustrations and started exploring ways to bring them into the world. As a lifelong fiber artist, seeing my work on fabric felt especially meaningful. Learning to prepare artwork for Spoonflower introduced me to the wonderfully intricate puzzle of seamless pattern design—and I was hooked.
What began as a desire to make beautiful things has grown into a creative home for surface pattern design, illustration, and story-rich artwork.
Today, my work includes fabric and wallpaper designs, seasonal collections, nursery and home décor concepts, art prints, and licensing-ready collections created with both beauty and everyday use in mind. Whether a design lives on fabric, walls, paper goods, or future products, my goal is the same: to bring warmth, delight, and personality into the spaces people live in.
The name Silver Honeybee Studio holds the spirit of what I create.
To me, silver has always felt like tangible moonlight—luminous, ethereal, and quietly mysterious. The honeybee represents something equally meaningful: devotion, purposeful work, community, and the protection of what matters. Honeybees are powerful, but never careless. Their strength serves the future of the hive.
Together, those ideas became the kind of studio I wanted to build: one rooted in wonder, beauty, care, and quiet strength.
I’m drawn to mystery and softness living side by side. I love stories where courage matters, where kindness is strong, and where precious things are protected. That spirit often finds its way into my artwork through moody botanicals, gentle whimsy, twilight palettes, storybook warmth, and designs that feel both comforting and alive with possibility.
I’m also a self-taught artist shaped as much by persistence as technique. My path has been built through curiosity, experimentation, learning, and showing up again and again. I believe there is dignity in making things slowly, thoughtfully, and wholeheartedly.
Many artists create work that challenges power and confronts injustice—work I deeply respect. I also believe art has another important role: to comfort the weary, delight the fragile, soothe the overwhelmed, and offer moments of beauty to people carrying more than anyone can see.
That is where I hope my own work lives.
